Developed by MoMSME, and GoI to improve MSE productivity, competitiveness, and collective capability, the CLUSTER development program was launched by providing support in the development of common physical infrastructure, support is utilizing and linking technology and marketing practices, communication channels, enhancing & building skills and capacities of farmers thereby addressing common challenges and opportunities.
ABOUT FOCUS (PRIME) PROGRAM OF THE GOVERNMENT OF MEGHALAYA
The GoM launched the PRIME Rural Program in March 2021, which was renamed Farmers’ Collectivization for Upscaling of Production and Marketing Systems (FOCUS) in July 2021. In addition, the programme builds large collectives in the form of Cooperative Societies and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) by bringing together well-functioning PGs.
ABOUT MLF
MLF believes that increasing rural communities’ economic capability and establishing self-sustaining livelihood options is the greatest approach to empowering them. MLF, in collaboration with local civil society organisations, ensures that the correct tactics and efforts deliver the intended results. MLF over the years has sponsored initiatives in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand. MLF through its sister concerns has built and supported the training of 45+ SHGs agri-livestock, developed 4 Agri, 10 livestock and 4 AYUSH clusters.
ABOUT MMCS
The Mendipathar Multipurpose Cooperative (MMCS) was founded in 1998 to educate and teach marginal farmers. MMCS-sold farm products including rubber, black pepper, and turmeric have freed peasants from money lenders and middlemen. On various projects, the co-op works with the government. MMCS has built and trained 135 SHG animators. Over 1700 families gained confidence and discipline. The Rubber Board and other agencies also trained SHG members on essential themes. MMCS now markets agricultural items like rubber, black pepper, and turmeric.
