Summary:
Farm manager oversees the productivity in the Mushroom Demo Unit @ CFC, manages the incubation room, Bag making unit and manages the record on all the input material (spawn, mushroom bags incubated & distributed to farmers, straw requirement, and other input supplies). He/ She will oversee/ manage the training calendar @ the CFC and address all the field requirements, manage relationship between the field staff apart from performing varied activities as required.
Farm Manager reports to Production & QC Manager apart from President MFCS and will work alongside all other team members. The Farm Manager is responsible for the production in the Demo Unit and will be detailing out the need/ requirement of conducting survey/ data update on the field production, regularly update of the mobile application related to CFC production. This is a full-time position. Due to the unique obligations of farm life, you will occasionally be asked to work some weekends on rotation with other members of the staff. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, willingness to work in field, interact with farmers, leadership, and communication skills and should also possess knowledge and understanding field data management and should be ready to work under supervision. Primary Responsibilities:
1. Demo unit management – crop production, harvesting, post-harvest handling.
2. Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters.
3. Undertake practical activities, such as mushroom bag making, movement of bags from incubation room to field, crop movement from field to cold room etc, operating machinery/ equipment in bag making unit and other sections(if required).
4. Arrange the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, machinery and equipment.
5. Plan activities for trainee staff, mentoring and monitoring them.
6. Understand the implications of the weather and make contingency plans.
7. Make sure products are ready for deadlines, such as auctions and markets.
8. Ensure that farm activities comply with government regulations.
9. Buy supplies such as straw, organic pesticides, mosquito nets, sprayers etc.
10. Maintain knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how to treat them.
11. Apply health and safety standards across the farm CFC.
12. Protect the environment and maintain biodiversity.
13. Keep financial records up to date.
14. Support in organizing training & exposure visits, participation in exhibitions @ regional, state & national level for the CFC.
15. Organize markets/ events & exhibitions to promote/ showcase CFC production.
16. Managing campaigns on various social media platforms and promoting farmer production through CFC.
17. Maintaining relationships with all farmer members, SPV board, IA, TA, various government bodies & other stakeholders.
18. Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.

Knowledge & Skill Requirement:
1. Experience in crop management, farm business management, horticulture production systems.
2. Good organizational and time-management skills.
3. Ability to work under pressure, supervisory skills, management ability & numerical aptitude.
4. Willingness to be outside in all weathers and patience to undertake all sorts of practical, sometimes repetitive jobs.

17. BBA/Bachelor in agri & related discipline with minimum 1-2 years of experience in fields working with farmers.
Work schedule:
8-hour shift (Monday to Friday). Half-day every alternate Saturday
Other requirements:
Language – proficient in English & Garo (read, write and speak)
Working knowledge in Hindi (speak)
