Field Manager – Mushroom Farmer Management

Summary:
Field Manager reports to Production & QC Manager apart from President MFCS and will work alongside all other team members. The Field Manager is responsible for all production in the field and will be leading responsible for taking regular survey/ data update on the field production, challenges/ issues faced by the farmers, regular update of the mobile application on farmer level production, continuous monitoring and act a bridge between the farmers & CFC. This is a full-time position. Due to the unique obligations of farm life, you will occasionally be asked to work some weekends on rotation with other members of the staff. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, willingness to work in field, interact with farmers, leadership, and communication skills and should also possess knowledge and understanding field data management and should be ready to work under supervision. President MFCS/ Production & QC Manager
Secretary MMCS (as & when required)
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Field management – crop production, harvesting, post-harvest handling.
2. Farmer integration, aggregation & movement of produce from field to CFC.
3. Record keeping – Data update/ management at field level as well as on mobile based application.
4. Conducting regular field surveys in specified formats as and when required.
5. Support in organizing training & exposure visits for farmers.
6. Organize farmer markets/ events & exhibitions to promote/ showcase farmer production @ field level.
7. Act as bridge between the farmer & CFC.
8. Managing campaigns on various social media platforms and promoting farmer production through CFC.
9. Maintaining relationships with all farmer members, SPV board, IA, TA, various government bodies & other stakeholders.
10. Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.
Knowledge & Skill Requirement:
1. Experience in working in field with farmers on agri-horti production systems.
2. Experience in managing farmers in pre/ post hoarvest, crop management.
3. Able to stand and/or walk during entire work day
4. Able to work outdoors under varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.).
5. Able to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
6. Able to multitask.
7. Attention to details.
8. Good communication skills
9. A strong team player who works well with everyone across departments.
10. Ability to develop presentations and present ideas and plans well.
11. Having working knowledge of MS Office
12. Familiarity with social media and web analytics.
13. Good listener and proactive in their work to be hands-on on the job.
14. Positive attitude towards work and peers.
15. Good communication skills.
16. BBA/ B.Com/ Bachelor in in any discipline with minimum 1-2 years of experience in fields working with farmers.
Work schedule:
8-hour shift (Monday to Friday). Half-day every alternate Saturday
Other requirements:
Language – proficient in English & Garo (read, write and speak)
Working knowledge in Hindi (speak)
